Sercan Göde: is closed rhinoplasty right for your goals?

Understand the questions behind Sercan Göde’s published closed approach: suitability, the proposed changes and what remains provisional online.

Closed rhinoplasty should be discussed in relation to the changes your nose needs, not chosen solely because the incisions are inside the nostrils. Sercan Göde’s official website describes closed primary and secondary rhinoplasty. That makes candidacy a useful question for a prospective first-time patient; it does not establish that the approach suits everyone.

Put the published approach in context

Göde’s professional biography describes an İzmir ENT surgeon whose work includes nasal and sinus surgery. His website gives closed rhinoplasty a prominent place. The independent Göde profile separates professional background from individual treatment decisions. This article does not rank him or confirm a personal plan.

The NHS describes open and closed rhinoplasty by their incision locations and notes that closed surgery is not always possible or available. Those general descriptions do not compare this surgeon’s outcomes. The useful consultation question is: “Why would this access give you what you need to perform the changes proposed for me?”

Discuss the operation before the incision

List the concern you want addressed, such as the profile, tip position or asymmetry. Ask the surgeon to explain the work proposed for that concern, then how the selected access relates to it. Keep questions about breathing separate enough that they receive an explicit answer.

You can also ask what finding would make the surgeon advise a different approach, defer treatment or recommend no operation. This is more informative than asking for a promise that a preferred label will be used. Our open and closed rhinoplasty guide explains the terminology without choosing for you.

What can an online discussion settle?

Göde’s published pathway describes an online surgeon meeting followed by practical arrangements and a physical examination. Treat that as the practice’s described process, and confirm the sequence for your case. Ask which decisions are tentative, what examination could change, and when you can discuss a changed plan before consent.

Prepare a short note after the online appointment: the desired change, the proposed approach, the reason given and the unresolved point. At the in-person visit, use the same note to check whether the plan still matches your understanding. An online agreement about a date should not silently become agreement to a different operation.

Does closed access settle recovery or result quality?

The technique label alone does not answer your personal recovery questions. Ask for instructions relevant to the operation actually proposed, including the reviews required before travel. Avoid using another patient’s experience to assign yourself a return-to-work date. The recovery timeline article gives general context.

If you are interested because of a closed revision example, ask whether it is relevant to a previously unoperated nose. First and repeat operations should not be treated as interchangeable evidence of what you need.
