Umut Erdoğan: understand your proposed rhinoplasty

For a first rhinoplasty with Umut Erdoğan, clarify the proposed changes, any support work and which decisions require an in-person examination.

Before deciding on a first rhinoplasty, you should understand what is being proposed for your nose in ordinary language. If you are researching Umut Erdoğan, ask for the operation’s scope before comparing package descriptions: which changes are intended, why they are proposed and what remains undecided.

Separate the practice background from your plan

Erdoğan’s published biography records ENT training at Ege University, and Mediface’s biography also describes his ENT background. His practice publishes both primary and revision material. The independent Erdoğan profile explains this context. A page about a complex repeat operation is not evidence that a first-time patient needs the same work.

Start with the intended changes

Ask for a short explanation of each part of the proposed operation. What is intended to change in the profile, tip or front view? Is any breathing concern being assessed or treated? What are the limitations? You need not arrive with the surgical terminology, but you should leave able to describe the agreed aim.

A useful note has three headings: “proposed”, “not proposed” and “still to decide”. Put a question mark against anything you do not understand. This is especially useful when several procedures have been mentioned during research but only some apply to you.

Put support and graft questions in proportion

Erdoğan’s revision information discusses structural reconstruction and cartilage sources. Treat this as context for asking questions, not a list of additions to request for an untreated nose. If a graft is mentioned in your own plan, ask what it would support, why it is needed and whether it creates any additional care requirements.

If no graft has been proposed, do not assume one is required because you saw it in a revision article. Similarly, having had septal surgery in the past is something to disclose, even if you have never had a cosmetic rhinoplasty. Our primary and revision guide explains the distinction.

Ask what could change after examination

Identify which parts of an initial discussion are provisional. If an in-person finding changes the scope, ask when you would receive the revised explanation and have time to consider it. An offer based on a short message should not substitute for understanding the final plan.

Keep the medical scope separate from hotel nights, transfers and other travel arrangements. Both matter, but the presence of one service does not explain the operation. If you request a written quotation, ask that it names the proposed procedure and separates optional services, without assuming a published package applies to you.

Make consent a conversation you can recall

Before deciding, try explaining the plan back in your own words. Include one thing the surgeon said the operation may not achieve. If you cannot do that, ask for clarification. For terminology, read the rhinoplasty overview; for remote-care questions, use the existing Erdoğan article.
