Şükrü Turan and Piezo rhinoplasty: questions beyond the instrument

Understand what Piezo can and cannot explain in Şükrü Turan’s published rhinoplasty material, then prepare questions about anatomy, breathing and revision.

Piezo appears in Şükrü Turan’s rhinoplasty information, but it names a tool for bone work rather than a complete plan for the bridge, tip or airway. This guide turns that distinction into questions for an Antalya consultation. His practice also lists WhatsApp contact; the sources reviewed do not verify a public invitation to an official patient group.

Start with the professional record

The Turkish ENT society records Şükrü Turan’s specialist qualification in December 2017, and the Antalya Provincial Health Directorate lists his ENT practice in Muratpaşa. His own site discusses rhinoplasty and revision surgery. These sources help identify the practice and its published topics; they do not tell you whether a particular technique fits your nose. The independent Şükrü Turan profile sets out the background and the limits of each source.

Take two lists into the consultation

Write down the visible features you want to discuss, then list breathing symptoms separately: when obstruction occurs, whether one side is worse and whether you have had previous nasal treatment. Ask what examination could distinguish a septal issue from other possible contributors. A request for a particular appearance and a complaint about airflow may lead to related but different questions.

Read the Piezo claim as one part of a plan

Turan’s practice describes ultrasonic Piezo equipment for shaping nasal bone. That tells you about a possible instrument, not whether the bridge should be moved, how the tip will be supported or why breathing may be difficult. Bring three separate questions to the consultation:

  1. Which finding on examination makes bone work relevant to my goals?
  2. What work, if any, is planned on the tip, septum or other support structures?
  3. How would the proposed approach change if examination or a previous operation reveals a different problem?

Ask the surgeon to explain the alternatives and likely trade-offs for your anatomy. A technology name alone cannot establish less swelling, a shorter recovery or a predictable appearance.

If a first operation has already happened

The practice separately publishes revision rhinoplasty information. Tell the clinician about any earlier surgery and bring available operative notes. Ask which current concerns can be established by examination, whether support has changed and what a further operation might leave unresolved. A group photograph or another patient’s revision story cannot answer those questions for you.

A brief group check

A clinic WhatsApp contact is not an official patient forum. If someone offers a group, ask who runs it and whether the practice confirms a connection. In an ordinary WhatsApp group, members may see your phone number; keep medical records and face photographs within a verified private care channel.

Keep the proposal in writing

Ask for the named operating facility, the scope of the proposed procedure, the early review schedule, the route for help after returning home and the full costs and exclusions. A clinic message line can help with logistics; it should not be mistaken for a doctor-led patient forum or a substitute for examination.

Common questions. Is the practice WhatsApp line a group invitation? No evidence reviewed here establishes that. Does Piezo mean every case uses the same approach? No; ask what part of your own plan involves bone work. Can group members tell me when to stop medicines or resume exercise? Follow the treating team’s written instructions for your case.
