Independent doctor profile

Dr Ahmet Alp

Ahmet Alp is an Istanbul ENT surgeon with a public teaching record that includes thick skin and revision rhinoplasty. Those topics provide a useful starting point for discussing the limits of a proposed change, especially after previous surgery.

Education and professional background

  1. 2007–2012

    ENT specialist training

His biography records medical studies beginning at Pamukkale and completed at Dokuz Eylül, followed by ENT training at Haseki from 2007 to 2012. It then describes work at Eyüp State Hospital.

  2. 2025

    An international programme record

The 2025 Panamerican ENT Congress lists Alp among international speakers. This is a dated professional record, not confirmation of UK registration, patient demand or a current overseas follow-up service.

02

What does the practice focus on?

01

Plan around the previous operation

His biography places his practice in Nişantaşı. For a revision discussion, bring the previous operative report and explain which changes concern you. Ask what can be assessed remotely and what remains uncertain until examination. The current operating hospital has not been independently confirmed here.

Teaching topics and skin limits

The May 2022 All in One programme assigns Alp topics involving thick skin and complex revisions. A programme identifies a teaching topic; it cannot establish that every patient is suitable for the same plan or predict the detail visible after healing.

Define the revision problem first

Separate a concern about shape from a breathing complaint when preparing questions. Ask which findings would change the plan, whether additional cartilage might be needed and how uncertainty will be documented. These are editorial consultation prompts, not statements about Alp’s treatment of a particular case.

Understanding nasal surgery

Different goals. One carefully considered plan.

A useful consultation separates what you would like to change from what an examination can establish. The guide below explains the vocabulary used in nasal surgery. It is general education, not a description of this doctor’s personal technique or a recommendation for your case.

Three questions for an individual assessment
01

Form

What would you like to change about your nose within the proportions of your face?

02

Breathing

Which symptoms need an internal examination and discussion of possible causes?

03

History

How do previous treatment, health and expectations inform the discussion?

Conceptual planning diagram, not a diagnostic image or a prediction of surgical results.

01

Rhinoplasty: the external shape

Rhinoplasty changes the shape or size of the nose. Open and closed describe access through different incision patterns; these words alone do not tell you what structural work is planned. Ask your surgeon to explain the proposed changes, their limitations and why that access suits your anatomy.

02

Septoplasty: the internal partition

The septum divides the two nasal passages. A deviation can contribute to obstruction, but an off-centre septum does not always cause symptoms. Assessment considers other contributors, including the turbinates and nasal valves. Septoplasty addresses the septum; a combined septorhinoplasty also addresses the external nose.

03

Revision: understand the earlier operation

If you have already had surgery, make that clear at the outset and bring any available operative records. A useful consultation should distinguish the concern you see today from the correction being proposed. Ask what can realistically change, what may remain and whether further surgery is appropriate at all.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation; editorial consultation prompts

Arrive with a history, leave with clear questions.

Prepare your medical conditions, allergies, current medicines and supplements, smoking or alcohol history and previous procedures. Describe both appearance and breathing concerns. The consultation should include examination, available options and an explanation of risks. Do not change prescribed medicines yourself; ask the treating team for individual instructions.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation

Recovery is a sequence, not a reveal.

This visual is an orientation to follow-up, not a fixed timetable. The treating surgeon determines your care and review schedule.

  1. 01

    Initial care

Splints or dressings may protect the nose. Obtain written instructions on care, medicines and the next review.

  2. 02

    Early review

Ask who removes dressings or sutures, when you can resume activities and whom to contact with concerns.

  3. 03

    Ongoing healing

Swelling changes over time; refinement can take up to a year. An early photograph is not the final assessment.

  4. 04

    Continued follow-up

Confirm how reviews continue after you return home and how persistent concerns will be assessed.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty recovery

Discuss the trade-offs before deciding.

Possible risks include breathing difficulty, infection, altered sensation, scarring, septal perforation, dissatisfaction with appearance and further surgery. Anaesthesia has its own risks. Ask which are relevant to your health and proposed operation, how complications would be managed and what alternatives are available.

Reviews, fees & online identity

Read revision stories in context

A Reddit or RealSelf account about Alp may describe a primary operation or a revision with a very different starting point. Check that distinction, the date and the follow-up period. No patient story or “botched” allegation has been authenticated for this profile; the search term itself is not a finding.

A revision quote needs a defined scope

No current Alp fee has been verified. A written revision estimate should clarify the proposed procedure, possible graft harvesting, hospital and anaesthesia charges, and who pays for an unexpected review. A price attached to another patient’s primary operation does not resolve these items.

Separate a practice account from a group

Instagram photographs and WhatsApp groups do not establish who is responsible for care. Confirm the sender’s identity through an independently checked practice channel before sharing records. This profile provides no handle, group invitation or booking route and does not verify Alp’s remote-care arrangements.

This dated source review distinguishes published records from practice descriptions and patient-authored material. It does not audit individual outcomes or confirm services for a future booking.
