Independent doctor profile
Prof. Dr. Ömer Taşkın Yücel
Ömer Taşkın Yücel is listed by Hacettepe University as a professor in its Department of Otorhinolaryngology in Ankara. His university research record includes a 2026 paper on facial asymmetry in patients with a crooked nose, while the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery lists Taskin Yücel as a Turkish national delegate. Hacettepe ENT and an academic research record
Hacettepe’s current research portal identifies Yücel as Professor Dr. in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and records specialist training at Hacettepe from 1989 to 1993. The profile also catalogues peer-reviewed output. It confirms an academic role and publication history, not a particular operation, private clinic or outcome for a future patient.

A Turkish national delegate in a European academy
EAFPS lists Taskin Yücel and Tevfik Sözen as national delegates for Turkey. That is a professional governance role rather than a patient rating, board-certificate substitute or sign of a UK, German or French practice. Ask which current hospital pathway would apply to your consultation and surgery.

What does the practice focus on?
Map a crooked nose in more than one plane
Yücel’s 2026 research record makes facial asymmetry a useful consultation topic. Ask which differences arise from nasal bones, septum, tip support or the wider face, what photographs or measurements are used, and which asymmetries would remain even after surgery. A research topic does not predict a personal result.
Keep function, appearance and teaching-hospital logistics distinct
At a university ENT service, clarify whether the plan addresses obstruction, external form or both; who performs each stage; and who reviews breathing and healing after discharge. International patients should obtain a written plan for records, interpreters and assessment after returning to the UK, Germany or France.

Clinical interests & published evidence
Evidence reviewed:
Crooked nose and the wider face
Hacettepe records Yücel as a co-author of a 2026 peer-reviewed study on facial asymmetry in patients with a crooked nose. That topic supports asking whether deviation comes from the nasal framework, septum or wider facial proportions. It does not prove that a particular method will make a face symmetrical or predict an individual result.

Professional service, not a patient ranking
EAFPS currently lists Taskin Yücel as one of Turkey’s national delegates. This is a governance and professional-network signal relevant to international visibility. It is not a popularity rank, patient-volume measure, UK registration, certification audit or evidence of outcomes. Confirm the present care pathway with Hacettepe.

Understanding nasal surgery
Different goals. One carefully considered plan.
A useful consultation separates what you would like to change from what an examination can establish. The guide below explains the vocabulary used in nasal surgery. It is general education, not a description of this doctor’s personal technique or a recommendation for your case.
Form
What would you like to change about your nose within the proportions of your face?
Breathing
Which symptoms need an internal examination and discussion of possible causes?
History
How do previous treatment, health and expectations inform the discussion?
Conceptual planning diagram, not a diagnostic image or a prediction of surgical results.

Rhinoplasty: the external shape
Rhinoplasty changes the shape or size of the nose. Open and closed describe access through different incision patterns; these words alone do not tell you what structural work is planned. Ask your surgeon to explain the proposed changes, their limitations and why that access suits your anatomy.
NHS · Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)
Septoplasty: the internal partition
The septum divides the two nasal passages. A deviation can contribute to obstruction, but an off-centre septum does not always cause symptoms. Assessment considers other contributors, including the turbinates and nasal valves. Septoplasty addresses the septum; a combined septorhinoplasty also addresses the external nose.

Revision: understand the earlier operation
If you have already had surgery, make that clear at the outset and bring any available operative records. A useful consultation should distinguish the concern you see today from the correction being proposed. Ask what can realistically change, what may remain and whether further surgery is appropriate at all.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation; editorial consultation prompts
Arrive with a history, leave with clear questions.
Prepare your medical conditions, allergies, current medicines and supplements, smoking or alcohol history and previous procedures. Describe both appearance and breathing concerns. The consultation should include examination, available options and an explanation of risks. Do not change prescribed medicines yourself; ask the treating team for individual instructions.

Recovery is a sequence, not a reveal.
This visual is an orientation to follow-up, not a fixed timetable. The treating surgeon determines your care and review schedule.
- 01
Initial care
Splints or dressings may protect the nose. Obtain written instructions on care, medicines and the next review.
- 02
Early review
Ask who removes dressings or sutures, when you can resume activities and whom to contact with concerns.
- 03
Ongoing healing
Swelling changes over time; refinement can take up to a year. An early photograph is not the final assessment.
- 04
Continued follow-up
Confirm how reviews continue after you return home and how persistent concerns will be assessed.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty recovery
Discuss the trade-offs before deciding.
Possible risks include breathing difficulty, infection, altered sensation, scarring, septal perforation, dissatisfaction with appearance and further surgery. Anaesthesia has its own risks. Ask which are relevant to your health and proposed operation, how complications would be managed and what alternatives are available.

Reviews, fees & online identity
Reviews, Reddit and RealSelf: identify the actual pathway
For Ömer Taşkın Yücel reviews, distinguish reports about him from comments on Hacettepe as an institution or another surgeon. On Reddit or RealSelf, check the operation date, whether the account describes rhinoplasty rather than another ENT treatment, and whether follow-up is long enough to interpret. Anecdotes cannot establish a success or complication rate.

A university profile does not establish a personal price
No current personal rhinoplasty price or international package for Yücel is verified here. Ask the responsible unit for a dated, itemised quotation naming the clinician and facility, with anaesthesia, investigations, graft-related charges, follow-up and the consequences of a changed plan. Do not infer a fee from another Hacettepe patient.

Instagram, adverse-outcome searches and WhatsApp groups
This review did not authenticate a personal Instagram account or official patient WhatsApp group for Yücel. A forwarded logo or matching name does not prove ownership or medical supervision. “Botched” in a search query is not a verified finding. Use current university channels before sending health records, and request clinical explanations rather than judging standardized photographs alone.
