Education and professional background

  1. 2012

    Medical graduation

Mediface’s biography records medical-school graduation in 2012. It does not name the university; conflicting school claims from other profiles are not adopted here.

  2. 2017

    ENT specialist training in Istanbul

The clinic biography records completion of specialist training at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital in 2017. This describes training in Turkey, without implying an independently verified European or American board credential.

  3. Antalya

    Practice and public identity record

Mediface lists his own Antalya clinic and Private Mediface Medical Center. The Provincial Health Directorate lists his name under ENT (KBB). These records support identity and specialty; confirm the current operating facility and responsibility for each stage directly.

02

What does the practice focus on?

01

Primary rhinoplasty and nasal breathing

His official primary-rhinoplasty page describes an open approach with piezo ultrasonic technology and attention to shape and breathing. This is the practice’s description, not proof that the approach is preferable for every patient. Ask what changes are proposed for the bridge, tip, septum and nasal valves.

02

Revision, septoplasty and upper-airway surgery

Mediface lists revision rhinoplasty, septoplasty and upper-airway surgery. His revision page describes planning around the existing nasal structure. Previous surgery, scarring and available cartilage need individual assessment; a listed service does not establish your suitability or a guaranteed result.

Clinical interests & published evidence

Evidence reviewed:

2019 study: smell function after osteotomy

Harun Acipayam co-authored the study of 60 adults undergoing different nasal procedures (PMID 30507872). The medial-plus-lateral osteotomy group had an early reduction in smell function; at four months, the groups did not differ significantly. This small nonrandomised study is a traceable research contribution, not an audit of his own practice or a prediction for your surgery.

Remote assessment before travel

His revision page describes remote initial assessments and international-patient support. Confirm who provides the clinical assessment, the language used for explanations and consent, and when the surgeon will examine you in person. Photos cannot settle all questions about internal anatomy or breathing. Obtain the surgeon, operating facility, anaesthesia arrangements and follow-up plan in writing before travel commitments.

Recovery milestones and responsibility after returning home

NHS guidance notes that up to two weeks away from work may be needed; ASPS explains that contour refinement may continue for up to a year. These are general ranges, not Acıpayam’s promised schedule or flight clearance. Agree the minimum stay, check-ups and urgent-assessment arrangements with the treating surgeon. Ask who can examine you at home and who pays for additional care if the plan changes.

Understanding nasal surgery

Different goals. One carefully considered plan.

A useful consultation separates what you would like to change from what an examination can establish. The guide below explains the vocabulary used in nasal surgery. It is general education, not a description of this doctor’s personal technique or a recommendation for your case.

Three questions for an individual assessment
01

Form

What would you like to change about your nose within the proportions of your face?

02

Breathing

Which symptoms need an internal examination and discussion of possible causes?

03

History

How do previous treatment, health and expectations inform the discussion?

Conceptual planning diagram, not a diagnostic image or a prediction of surgical results.

Read the procedure, recovery and risk guide
01

Rhinoplasty: the external shape

Rhinoplasty changes the shape or size of the nose. Open and closed describe access through different incision patterns; these words alone do not tell you what structural work is planned. Ask your surgeon to explain the proposed changes, their limitations and why that access suits your anatomy.

NHS · Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)

02

Septoplasty: the internal partition

The septum divides the two nasal passages. A deviation can contribute to obstruction, but an off-centre septum does not always cause symptoms. Assessment considers other contributors, including the turbinates and nasal valves. Septoplasty addresses the septum; a combined septorhinoplasty also addresses the external nose.

03

Revision: understand the earlier operation

If you have already had surgery, make that clear at the outset and bring any available operative records. A useful consultation should distinguish the concern you see today from the correction being proposed. Ask what can realistically change, what may remain and whether further surgery is appropriate at all.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation; editorial consultation prompts

Arrive with a history, leave with clear questions.

Prepare your medical conditions, allergies, current medicines and supplements, smoking or alcohol history and previous procedures. Describe both appearance and breathing concerns. The consultation should include examination, available options and an explanation of risks. Do not change prescribed medicines yourself; ask the treating team for individual instructions.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation

Recovery is a sequence, not a reveal.

This visual is an orientation to follow-up, not a fixed timetable. The treating surgeon determines your care and review schedule.

  1. 01

    Initial care

Splints or dressings may protect the nose. Obtain written instructions on care, medicines and the next review.

  2. 02

    Early review

Ask who removes dressings or sutures, when you can resume activities and whom to contact with concerns.

  3. 03

    Ongoing healing

Swelling changes over time; refinement can take up to a year. An early photograph is not the final assessment.

  4. 04

    Continued follow-up

Confirm how reviews continue after you return home and how persistent concerns will be assessed.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty recovery

Discuss the trade-offs before deciding.

Possible risks include breathing difficulty, infection, altered sensation, scarring, septal perforation, dissatisfaction with appearance and further surgery. Anaesthesia has its own risks. Ask which are relevant to your health and proposed operation, how complications would be managed and what alternatives are available.

Reviews, fees & online identity

Reviews and photographs: match the procedure and healing interval

For Acıpayam reviews, distinguish a primary operation from a revision and note how long the writer had healed. Clinic-selected testimonials and individual Reddit or RealSelf accounts cannot establish complication rates. Ask about communication, consent and response to concerns; compare healed front, side and base photographs with similar starting anatomy. No testimonial, review score or allegation is reproduced or medically validated in this profile.

A current personalised fee has not been verified. Request an itemised quote for surgeon, anaesthesia, facility, tests, medicines, any graft costs, visits and travel services. His official site currently states that prepayments are non-refundable; obtain the complete written cancellation and postponement terms before paying.
