Independent doctor profile

Prof. Dr. Fazıl Apaydın

Fazıl Apaydın is an ENT professor listed by Ege University in Izmir. His facial plastic surgery certification and publications offer different kinds of evidence: a credential documents assessment, while a study addresses a defined clinical question. Neither establishes an individual result.

Education and professional background

  1. 1985 · 2004

    Ege medical and academic record

His biography records an Ege medical degree in 1985 and a professorship in 2004. The university department roster separately lists him among its professors. Historical education and a current institutional listing should be read separately.

  2. 2012

    Facial plastic surgery certification

The IBCFPRS register dates certification to 2012 and records dual certification with EBCFPRS. This facial plastic surgery credential is additional to the ENT record; it should not be described as a national medical licence in another country.

What does the practice focus on?

01

Two surgical access routes

His rhinoplasty information discusses external and endonasal approaches and relates the choice to the deformity. Ask how the proposed access would address your septum, nasal tip and support needs rather than choosing from the technique name alone.

Clinical interests & published evidence

Evidence reviewed:

Published work on crooked and traumatic noses

A 2021 paper co-authored by Apaydın examines an L-strut graft for crooked and traumatic noses. This is a retrospective surgical series, not a randomized comparison or an audit of all current practice patients. Ask which anatomical problem a proposed graft is intended to solve.

Read society roles against the current roster

The EAFPS leadership page lists Apaydın on its Senior Advisory Board and in delegate roles. Older biography wording about a presidency should not be used as a current title. Society service offers professional context, not a recommendation for a particular operation.

Understanding nasal surgery

Different goals. One carefully considered plan.

A useful consultation separates what you would like to change from what an examination can establish. The guide below explains the vocabulary used in nasal surgery. It is general education, not a description of this doctor’s personal technique or a recommendation for your case.

Three questions for an individual assessment
01

Form

What would you like to change about your nose within the proportions of your face?

02

Breathing

Which symptoms need an internal examination and discussion of possible causes?

03

History

How do previous treatment, health and expectations inform the discussion?

Conceptual planning diagram, not a diagnostic image or a prediction of surgical results.

01

Rhinoplasty: the external shape

Rhinoplasty changes the shape or size of the nose. Open and closed describe access through different incision patterns; these words alone do not tell you what structural work is planned. Ask your surgeon to explain the proposed changes, their limitations and why that access suits your anatomy.

02

Septoplasty: the internal partition

The septum divides the two nasal passages. A deviation can contribute to obstruction, but an off-centre septum does not always cause symptoms. Assessment considers other contributors, including the turbinates and nasal valves. Septoplasty addresses the septum; a combined septorhinoplasty also addresses the external nose.

03

Revision: understand the earlier operation

If you have already had surgery, make that clear at the outset and bring any available operative records. A useful consultation should distinguish the concern you see today from the correction being proposed. Ask what can realistically change, what may remain and whether further surgery is appropriate at all.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation; editorial consultation prompts

Arrive with a history, leave with clear questions.

Prepare your medical conditions, allergies, current medicines and supplements, smoking or alcohol history and previous procedures. Describe both appearance and breathing concerns. The consultation should include examination, available options and an explanation of risks. Do not change prescribed medicines yourself; ask the treating team for individual instructions.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation

Recovery is a sequence, not a reveal.

This visual is an orientation to follow-up, not a fixed timetable. The treating surgeon determines your care and review schedule.

  1. 01

    Initial care

Splints or dressings may protect the nose. Obtain written instructions on care, medicines and the next review.

  2. 02

    Early review

Ask who removes dressings or sutures, when you can resume activities and whom to contact with concerns.

  3. 03

    Ongoing healing

Swelling changes over time; refinement can take up to a year. An early photograph is not the final assessment.

  4. 04

    Continued follow-up

Confirm how reviews continue after you return home and how persistent concerns will be assessed.

ASPS · Rhinoplasty recovery

Discuss the trade-offs before deciding.

Possible risks include breathing difficulty, infection, altered sensation, scarring, septal perforation, dissatisfaction with appearance and further surgery. Anaesthesia has its own risks. Ask which are relevant to your health and proposed operation, how complications would be managed and what alternatives are available.

Reviews, fees & online identity

Keep publication and review evidence separate

The L-strut study concerns selected surgical cases. It does not validate Reddit posts, RealSelf ratings or a satisfaction score for the practice. When comparing patient accounts, look for a matching procedure, sufficient follow-up and disclosure of incentives; this profile endorses no individual review.

  • Publication record · Apaydin et al., 2021 — L-Strut Graft; PMID 32779941

Obtain a procedure-specific quotation

No current fixed rhinoplasty fee was verified. The described access choices do not define a package price. Request a dated quotation specifying septal work, grafts if proposed, hospital and anaesthesia charges, follow-up and the handling of unexpected additional care.

Credential registers do not authenticate groups

The certification register corroborates a professional credential, not an Instagram account or private WhatsApp group. No social handle or group invitation is assigned here. Verify identity and referral interests independently before sending photographs or medical records.

  • Institutional record · IBCFPRS — Fazil Apaydin certification record

This dated source review distinguishes published records from practice descriptions and patient-authored material. It does not audit individual outcomes or confirm services for a future booking.
