Independent doctor profile
Dr Eren Taştan
Eren Taştan is an Ankara ENT surgeon whose published work centres on nasal support, reconstruction and cartilage grafting. His Turkish and German biographies identify the same medical career; sports results for a namesake do not belong to it. This profile connects identifiable publications with questions about a proposed operation, without assuming a current university post.

Education and professional background
- Hacettepe · Ankara Numune
Medical education and ENT training
His biography describes medical education at Hacettepe and ENT specialist training at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital. It later describes nasal surgery at Ankara Training and Research Hospital. These institutions form part of the career history, while the practice listing places his consultation address in Ankara.

Publications and European teaching
The 2013 septal-reconstruction paper names Taştan and Sözen as authors. The 2018 EAFPS Regensburg programme separately lists Taştan on nasal bone work and costal cartilage grafting. Publication and programme records support a defined technical focus; they are not an assessment of every patient treated in the practice.

What does the practice focus on?
Separate reconstruction from cosmetic preference
His practice material covers revision surgery, septal deviation and perforation repair. These concerns need different assessments even when they coexist. Ask which problem is being treated, what tissue remains after any earlier operation and whether the proposed change is intended to restore support, improve breathing or alter shape.

Clinical interests & published evidence
Evidence reviewed:
What the oblique-split publication addresses
The septal-reconstruction abstract discusses preparing rib-cartilage grafts for substantial structural defects and the problem of warping. It describes a technical approach, not proof that a graft will remain unchanged in every patient. Ask why this material is proposed, what alternatives exist and how both the nose and donor site would be followed.

A 43-patient series is not a practice success rate
The 2013 JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery report describes 43 patients treated with the oblique-split method and follow-up of 12–37 months. It is classified as level 4 evidence. This selected clinical series cannot establish a lifetime practice success rate or guarantee that graft problems will not occur. Ask how your earlier operations and remaining nasal support compare with the study population.

Understanding nasal surgery
Different goals. One carefully considered plan.
A useful consultation separates what you would like to change from what an examination can establish. The guide below explains the vocabulary used in nasal surgery. It is general education, not a description of this doctor’s personal technique or a recommendation for your case.
Form
What would you like to change about your nose within the proportions of your face?
Breathing
Which symptoms need an internal examination and discussion of possible causes?
History
How do previous treatment, health and expectations inform the discussion?
Conceptual planning diagram, not a diagnostic image or a prediction of surgical results.

Rhinoplasty: the external shape
Rhinoplasty changes the shape or size of the nose. Open and closed describe access through different incision patterns; these words alone do not tell you what structural work is planned. Ask your surgeon to explain the proposed changes, their limitations and why that access suits your anatomy.
NHS · Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)
Septoplasty: the internal partition
The septum divides the two nasal passages. A deviation can contribute to obstruction, but an off-centre septum does not always cause symptoms. Assessment considers other contributors, including the turbinates and nasal valves. Septoplasty addresses the septum; a combined septorhinoplasty also addresses the external nose.

Revision: understand the earlier operation
If you have already had surgery, make that clear at the outset and bring any available operative records. A useful consultation should distinguish the concern you see today from the correction being proposed. Ask what can realistically change, what may remain and whether further surgery is appropriate at all.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation; editorial consultation prompts
Arrive with a history, leave with clear questions.
Prepare your medical conditions, allergies, current medicines and supplements, smoking or alcohol history and previous procedures. Describe both appearance and breathing concerns. The consultation should include examination, available options and an explanation of risks. Do not change prescribed medicines yourself; ask the treating team for individual instructions.

Recovery is a sequence, not a reveal.
This visual is an orientation to follow-up, not a fixed timetable. The treating surgeon determines your care and review schedule.
- 01
Initial care
Splints or dressings may protect the nose. Obtain written instructions on care, medicines and the next review.
- 02
Early review
Ask who removes dressings or sutures, when you can resume activities and whom to contact with concerns.
- 03
Ongoing healing
Swelling changes over time; refinement can take up to a year. An early photograph is not the final assessment.
- 04
Continued follow-up
Confirm how reviews continue after you return home and how persistent concerns will be assessed.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty recovery
Discuss the trade-offs before deciding.
Possible risks include breathing difficulty, infection, altered sensation, scarring, septal perforation, dissatisfaction with appearance and further surgery. Anaesthesia has its own risks. Ask which are relevant to your health and proposed operation, how complications would be managed and what alternatives are available.

Reviews, fees & online identity
Compare revision accounts with comparable cases
For Taştan reviews on Reddit or RealSelf, the number and type of previous operations matter. A primary-rhinoplasty account is not directly comparable to major support reconstruction. Look for the reason for revision, graft source if disclosed and length of follow-up. A positive or negative individual account cannot establish the frequency of that experience across a practice.

Define the reconstructive scope before comparing totals
No current individual fee was verified. For a revision enquiry, ask whether the quotation includes cartilage harvesting, donor-site care, hospital stay and longer-term checks. Confirm what changes if examination reveals less usable septal cartilage than expected. A simple “revision package” label does not explain the work or the arrangements for unexpected care.

Match medical identity across languages
The Turkish and German biographies share medical training and publication details, useful when checking search results for Eren Taştan or Eren Tastan. The name alone does not validate a social profile or private group. Establish who is answering, their relationship to the practice and how a surgeon will review any medical questions before relying on online advice.
