A deviated nose: the bony outline and the airway
Halis Ünlü’s current İzmir practice presents rhinoplasty and sinus surgery. For someone researching a crooked nose, the useful distinction is between the bony outline, septum and breathing symptoms. This independent profile connects his published record to those questions without assessing his patients’ results or arranging treatment.

From Ankara training to Rhinocamp teaching
- Professional record
Ankara training, followed by an academic career
His biography records Ankara University medical education, ENT training at Ankara Numune and a former professorship at Celal Bayar. Ask which elements of that background are relevant to your diagnosis rather than treating an academic title as a substitute for examination.

A teaching record alongside English patient information
The professional society names Ünlü in its Rhinocamp material. His teaching record specifically lists a 2005 EAFPS presentation in Florence on the middle nasal vault and septum; the practice also maintains an English clinic page. These are dated teaching and language-access facts, not UK patient numbers or a guarantee of German or French consultation.

Bone, septum and sinus symptoms
Map the crooked nose before choosing a manoeuvre
His indexed bone-trim paper provides a specific starting point for discussing asymmetry. Ask whether the visible deviation comes from bone, cartilage, the septum or several structures, and which changes could affect the nasal valve. A paper about one selected technique does not establish that it suits your anatomy or is his default approach today.
Separate sinus treatment from external reshaping
The practice’s nasal-surgery information creates two different consultation questions: what is causing symptoms, and what appearance change is feasible? Bring a symptom history and earlier operative reports. Ask whether inflammation needs separate treatment, whether endoscopy is appropriate, and how success will be assessed without relying only on photographs.

From a bone-correction paper to a personal plan
Evidence reviewed:
Bone correction does not describe the whole airway
The bone-trim publication documents a defined surgical idea. For your consultation, request an explanation of the remaining septal and valve problems, the limits of symmetry and the alternatives to the proposed technique. Its presence in a journal is not a personal outcome forecast.

Ask how form and symptoms will be followed separately
Take consistent preoperative photographs and a written account of blockage, discharge or previous injury. Ask Ünlü which findings each proposed step addresses and who will assess persistent symptoms after you return home. The consultation should make clear what would prompt reassessment rather than promising a fixed recovery date.

Clarify what straightening can address
Where is the doctor based?
İzmir, Turkey
What is the doctor’s specialty?
ENT · Rhinology and nasal surgery
Would straightening the bridge also address my blocked side?
Ask Ünlü to map the bone, septum, valve and any inflammatory findings separately. The bone-trim paper addresses a selected deformity; it does not establish that an external correction treats every breathing symptom. Have the planned examination and each functional step written into your assessment.
Can I book this doctor through Rhinoplasty Team Turkey?
No. This is an independent information page. Rhinoplasty Team Turkey does not arrange consultations or treatment with this doctor.

Check the procedure behind a review or fee
Compare like-for-like nasal procedures
For a Halis Ünlü account on Reddit or another forum, identify whether it concerns sinus surgery, straightening after injury or first-time reshaping. His bone-trim publication does not authenticate that patient account. Record the operation and follow-up interval before asking about a comparable case; a cropped photograph cannot establish the cause of an asymmetry.

A consultation fee is not a rhinoplasty quote
The English clinic page lists an examination fee, not a personalized rhinoplasty package. Its date and current terms need direct confirmation; this profile does not reproduce an amount. Ask for a dated surgical quote covering the hospital, anaesthesia, grafts if needed, medicines and follow-up, with sinus or revision work identified separately.

Distinguish a practice contact from a patient group
The official biography links a WhatsApp contact, which does not authenticate any patient WhatsApp group. An Instagram account should be checked against the established practice identity before records are shared. This review verifies neither a private group nor its administrators, referral arrangements or handling of medical images.

Understanding nasal surgery
Different goals. One carefully considered plan.
A useful consultation separates what you would like to change from what an examination can establish. The guide below explains the vocabulary used in nasal surgery. It is general education, not a description of this doctor’s personal technique or a recommendation for your case.
Form
What would you like to change about your nose within the proportions of your face?
Breathing
Which symptoms need an internal examination and discussion of possible causes?
History
How do previous treatment, health and expectations inform the discussion?
Conceptual planning diagram, not a diagnostic image or a prediction of surgical results.

Rhinoplasty: the external shape
Rhinoplasty changes the shape or size of the nose. Open and closed describe access through different incision patterns; these words alone do not tell you what structural work is planned. Ask your surgeon to explain the proposed changes, their limitations and why that access suits your anatomy.
NHS · Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)
Septoplasty: the internal partition
The septum divides the two nasal passages. A deviation can contribute to obstruction, but an off-centre septum does not always cause symptoms. Assessment considers other contributors, including the turbinates and nasal valves. Septoplasty addresses the septum; a combined septorhinoplasty also addresses the external nose.

Revision: understand the earlier operation
If you have already had surgery, make that clear at the outset and bring any available operative records. A useful consultation should distinguish the concern you see today from the correction being proposed. Ask what can realistically change, what may remain and whether further surgery is appropriate at all.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation; editorial consultation prompts
Arrive with a history, leave with clear questions.
Prepare your medical conditions, allergies, current medicines and supplements, smoking or alcohol history and previous procedures. Describe both appearance and breathing concerns. The consultation should include examination, available options and an explanation of risks. Do not change prescribed medicines yourself; ask the treating team for individual instructions.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation
Recovery is a sequence, not a reveal.
This visual is an orientation to follow-up, not a fixed timetable. The treating surgeon determines your care and review schedule.
- 01
Initial care
Splints or dressings may protect the nose. Obtain written instructions on care, medicines and the next review.
- 02
Early review
Ask who removes dressings or sutures, when you can resume activities and whom to contact with concerns.
- 03
Ongoing healing
Swelling changes over time; refinement can take up to a year. An early photograph is not the final assessment.
- 04
Continued follow-up
Confirm how reviews continue after you return home and how persistent concerns will be assessed.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty recovery
Discuss the trade-offs before deciding.
Possible risks include breathing difficulty, infection, altered sensation, scarring, septal perforation, dissatisfaction with appearance and further surgery. Anaesthesia has its own risks. Ask which are relevant to your health and proposed operation, how complications would be managed and what alternatives are available.
