Independent doctor profile
Dr Mehmet Emre Dinç
Mehmet Emre Dinç is an Istanbul ENT surgeon with a co-authored publication on spreader grafts and smell function. That research question and his account of revision planning offer two distinct ways to prepare a consultation: define the functional concern and establish what a previous operation has changed.

Education and professional background
- 2000 / 2005
Medical and ENT qualifications
His published career summary gives Ankara University medical graduation in 2000 and completion of ENT training at Ankara Training and Research Hospital in 2005. Later roles at Taksim and Okmeydanı are career history, not confirmation of the hospital for a future operation.

Read titles with their source
His CV dates associate professorship to 2018 and professorship to 2025. The latter was not independently matched to a current university staff record in this review. Dr is therefore used here without asserting an active academic appointment.

What does the practice focus on?
Revision planning starts with what remains
Dinç’s revision explanation discusses remaining cartilage, skin and previous interventions. Ask which decisions can be discussed from records and images, and which depend on a physical examination. A digital preview should not be read as a confirmed graft plan or guaranteed final contour.

Clinical interests & published evidence
Evidence reviewed:
A defined study of smell function
Dinç co-authored a 2016 prospective study of 68 primary open-septorhinoplasty patients comparing groups with and without spreader grafts. The paper reports level IV evidence. It documents an olfactory research question, not a clinic-wide success rate or a promise that a revision patient’s smell will improve.

Distinguish smell from breathing
The publication concerns olfactory function; it should not be substituted for evidence about your particular breathing complaint. Ask how baseline smell and nasal airflow concerns will be recorded separately. Neither the paper nor the practice description establishes which intervention you need without assessment.

Understanding nasal surgery
Different goals. One carefully considered plan.
A useful consultation separates what you would like to change from what an examination can establish. The guide below explains the vocabulary used in nasal surgery. It is general education, not a description of this doctor’s personal technique or a recommendation for your case.
Form
What would you like to change about your nose within the proportions of your face?
Breathing
Which symptoms need an internal examination and discussion of possible causes?
History
How do previous treatment, health and expectations inform the discussion?
Conceptual planning diagram, not a diagnostic image or a prediction of surgical results.

Rhinoplasty: the external shape
Rhinoplasty changes the shape or size of the nose. Open and closed describe access through different incision patterns; these words alone do not tell you what structural work is planned. Ask your surgeon to explain the proposed changes, their limitations and why that access suits your anatomy.
NHS · Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)
Septoplasty: the internal partition
The septum divides the two nasal passages. A deviation can contribute to obstruction, but an off-centre septum does not always cause symptoms. Assessment considers other contributors, including the turbinates and nasal valves. Septoplasty addresses the septum; a combined septorhinoplasty also addresses the external nose.

Revision: understand the earlier operation
If you have already had surgery, make that clear at the outset and bring any available operative records. A useful consultation should distinguish the concern you see today from the correction being proposed. Ask what can realistically change, what may remain and whether further surgery is appropriate at all.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty consultation; editorial consultation prompts
Arrive with a history, leave with clear questions.
Prepare your medical conditions, allergies, current medicines and supplements, smoking or alcohol history and previous procedures. Describe both appearance and breathing concerns. The consultation should include examination, available options and an explanation of risks. Do not change prescribed medicines yourself; ask the treating team for individual instructions.

Recovery is a sequence, not a reveal.
This visual is an orientation to follow-up, not a fixed timetable. The treating surgeon determines your care and review schedule.
- 01
Initial care
Splints or dressings may protect the nose. Obtain written instructions on care, medicines and the next review.
- 02
Early review
Ask who removes dressings or sutures, when you can resume activities and whom to contact with concerns.
- 03
Ongoing healing
Swelling changes over time; refinement can take up to a year. An early photograph is not the final assessment.
- 04
Continued follow-up
Confirm how reviews continue after you return home and how persistent concerns will be assessed.
ASPS · Rhinoplasty recovery
Discuss the trade-offs before deciding.
Possible risks include breathing difficulty, infection, altered sensation, scarring, septal perforation, dissatisfaction with appearance and further surgery. Anaesthesia has its own risks. Ask which are relevant to your health and proposed operation, how complications would be managed and what alternatives are available.

Reviews, fees & online identity
Match the reported problem to your own
When reading Reddit or RealSelf accounts about Dinç, distinguish a report about appearance from one about breathing or smell, and primary surgery from revision. No patient review or “botched” allegation is authenticated here. A research publication cannot validate a separate online patient story.

Confirm the cost of the assessed plan
No current Dinç fee has been verified. Ask whether the estimate includes functional assessment, proposed revision work, any graft harvesting, anaesthesia and follow-up. Clarify how an examination-led change would affect the price and the written agreement before treating a remote estimate as final.

A publication is not a contact credential
A paper bearing Dinç’s name does not verify an Instagram account, WhatsApp sender or patient group using it. Check the current practice identity independently before sharing scans or operative records. No handle, group invitation or appointment route is supplied by this profile.
