Where support, breathing and voice intersect
Zerrin Boyacı is an ENT associate professor listed by Acıbadem Kozyatağı in Istanbul. The hospital lists septoplasty, septorhinoplasty and rhinoplasty among her interests. Her coauthored papers add an unusually useful question for someone considering nasal surgery: how might structural support and voice concerns be assessed separately?

A current ENT listing, with an earlier academic record
Acıbadem lists Boyacı in its Kozyatağı ENT department. It records an Ege University medical degree in 1993 and ENT training at Kocaeli University. Her earlier research lists Maltepe University; that historical affiliation should not be mistaken for a current appointment. The hospital listing does not confirm the operating facility for a particular case.

What a small voice study actually measured
Boyacı coauthored a study of 20 people assessed before and 1–3 months after septorhinoplasty with spreader grafts. It compared patients’ perception of their voice with acoustic measurements. The short follow-up and small group cannot forecast whether an individual singer or professional speaker will notice a change.

Reading the voice and revision studies
Evidence reviewed:
Voice perception and acoustic measures
A 2012 study coauthored by Boyacı followed 20 septorhinoplasty patients for 1–3 months after spreader-graft surgery. Patient perception and acoustic measurements did not describe the same thing. This small, short study cannot forecast an individual voice or airway outcome.

Which structure needs support?
Revision support is a separate decision
A 2016 paper coauthored with Altay Ateşpare examined spreader grafts in revision septoplasty. A different 2013 series, with Boyacı as first author, discussed conservative rib-cartilage harvest in revision surgery. These papers concern selected historical patients, not a standard plan for every new consultation. Ask which specific obstruction or support problem would justify grafting in your anatomy.
Keep form, airflow and voice on separate lines
Nasal valve support, external shape and perceived voice quality are different outcomes. The published studies are prompts to discuss each goal, not proof that one operation will improve all three. If you travel, confirm in-person assessment, the treating facility and how a concern will be reviewed after you return home.

Do not merge different surgery accounts
